Baked white onions

A very simple, delicious side dish, very easy to prepare and very effective. Onions are allies of the line, only 26 calories per100 gr. They have many properties, they contain enzymes that stimulate digestion and metabolism, trace elements like iron, potassium, magnesium, calcium, manganese and phosphorus and vitamins (A, complex B,C,E). They have flavonoid with diuretic action and glucokinin,  a plant hormone with an anti-diabetic action. In a word they are excellent!

  1. Peel the onions, rinse them with running water, dry them and engrave a cross on the top.
  2. Arrange them in a baking dish, salt and pepper them to taste and add a drizzle of oil
  3. Bake in an hot oven at 180 degrees for about 70  minutes
  4. If you want to reduce the baking time it is possible to boiled the whole onions for about 10/15 minutes, then drain them and place them in the baking dish, seasoning as taste and drizzling with the oil. Baked for about 30 minutes: the onions must be very soft.
