Caramel citrus

The summer heat has arrived and despite this do we still want something sweet to eat at the end of a meal or as a snack? here is the one for you. Citrus of your choice, I love the pink grapefruit, with a touch of caramel and some dark chocolate flakes! To try

Preparation time 10 minutes

Ingredients for one person

  • 1 citrus fruit of your choice (orange or grapefruit) kept in the refrigerator to cool
  • 50 grams of sugar
  • Few flakes of dark chocolate

Method

We keep the citrus fruits in the refrigerator until the moment of preparation. Cut the citrus fruit in half and, with a sharp knife, cut it into triangles following the natural lines of the fruit.

In a saucepan pour the sugar and over low heat and stirring let it caramelize, being careful not to let it darken too much.

We arrange the two halves of the citrus fruit on a saucer and with a spoon let the caramel strands run on the surface.

In the middle we put some dark chocolate flakes and serve.

If we want to prepare them in advance, just keep the fruit in the refrigerator until it is time to serve it.

If desired, a spoonful of vodke or cointreau can be poured into the center of the citrus fruit.
