A little sweet and a little salty Mango

Mango is a delicious tropical fruit . It grows luxuriantly where the climate is hot and humid. Nowadays it is easily available in many greengrocers and supermarkets even if finding a quality one is not easy. In fact, the fruits are often harvested while still unripe and stored in the refrigerator to arrive in our homes hard, often dark and certainly not juicy. Anyone who has been lucky enough to taste one that has reached the right ripeness on the tree knows how sweet and juicy it is, the pulp of a beautiful intense yellow, compact and fleshy. Mango cultivation also takes place in some Italian regions, Sicily, Calabria, Puglia and the fruits are very good.

Today I propose a different way to eat this fruit, seasoned with spices and lemon. Really tasty.

Preparation time 5 minutes Ingredients for 2 servings

  • 1 ripe mango
  • salt and peper
  • fresh red and green chilli
  • 1 lime

Method

We wash the mango and remove the peel. Let’s cut it into pieces as regular as possible, let’s salt it pepper.

We wash 2 chillies and slice them. We sprinkle on the prepared mango. We serve immediately with half a lime that we will squeeze on the mango just before eating it.

Note

In the summer months you can keep the mango in the refrigerator so you can enjoy it fresh.
